weight loss and marathon goals

So I am just starting to run again after almost 3 months of minimal running. I have hiked Camelback Mtn. a half dozen times and skateboarded about 8-10 times since I got to Arizona. I started gaining a lot of weight after a failed attempt at the Rocky Racoon 100 race in Feb.2010. I went from 145lbs to 185lbs. Now I am back down to 167lbs with a goal of 155lbs by 12-01-2011. I am pacing Catra Corbett at the Javelina Jundred Nov.12th, running Pam Reed's Tuscon Marathon in Dec., and the Phoenix marathon in Jan.

PCTR headlands marathon

Yesterday was my only day off in a while. So I ran the Headlands marathon. It was hard for me. I'm not in the shape I used to be and I was never in that great of shape. They say it only had 5,000 feet of elevation gain, but I have done 50k races with more and this felt like more. A couple of years ago I ran a road marathon in 3:38. Yesterday's race took me 6hrs 41m. My buddy Jarod ran it as his first marathon and finished! My buddy Erik ran the 50 mile race in 10:59. Crazy. Phil Shaw won the 50 miler. He ran it in about 7 hours!
